Sinergy-Networks expands its roster of artists with Sol Jovis, a
producer from Fort Lauderdale, a city south of the Florida peninsula
opposite to the coast of the Bahamas, or somewhere in between USA and
the Caribbean.
Fort Lauderdale is known as the Venice of the United
States due to an intricate system of canals which occupies a large part
of it, and just as intricate or complex could define the music of SOL
Jovis, but by no means think that is impassable or indecipherable, that
would be a mistake. Actually his personal sound, mingled with the
current European mainstream of minimal-techno, is winding, sometimes
labyrinthine and always intelligently frivolous, and this is because it
seeks to grant rhythms and unconventional structures and developments
that encourage a long groove and warm Lysergic delirious at the
time.
Cuts like "Animal cracker" or "White killer whale" not only
demonstrate a concern for global fauna, but also the thirst for an
artist with a broad range of influences to help refresh picture of
techno adding fair dose of electronica, dub, tribal percusión, cadence
of funk and attitude. The appearance of eminent playful sound of SOL
Jovis hides in its early listening takes the seriousness of some
cyclical harmonies and worked very evocative, filled with real or
imaginary landscapes.
